Leader background:
Alison is currently employed for the CRO, Clinipace. She has been a medical writer for the pharmaceutical industry for more than 20 years, and has written extensively for regulatory authorities, and other audiences. Alison became a medical writer after completing her PhD and a further 5 years of postdoctoral research in molecular virology. She initially joined GlaxoWelllcome (now GlaxoSmithKline) as a medical writer in 1995, then from 2000 worked as a freelance medical writer and consultant. In 2014 Alison joined ICON Clinical Research where she worked as a Principal Medical Writer for over 5 Years. . Her wealth of experience as a medical writer encompasses many different types of documents including manuscripts, book chapters, and clinical and scientific abstracts, as well as clinical study reports, investigator brochures and other regulatory documents. Alison is a section editor for the EMWA journal Medical Writing and a committee member of the EMWA Special Interest Group on regulatory public disclosure. She previously served on the EMWA Professional Development Committee.
